HaiSous Vietnamese feast: whole fish, caramelized chicken wings, grilled meats, fresh herbs and sesame rice crackers

THE HAISOUS COLLECTION · NORTHERN VIRGINIA

A homecoming. A new destination.

Chef Thai Dang envisions bringing HaiSous, his acclaimed Chicago restaurant, and its sister concepts to Northern Virginia, where he grew up.

Three concepts.
One Virginia home.

Chef Thai Dang and Danielle Dang envision HaiSous, Cà Phê Đá, and Dang Good Wings together under one roof in Northern Virginia.

For Chef Thai, this would bring what he and Danielle built in Chicago back to the region where he grew up.

Guests could stop in for Vietnamese coffee in the morning, a casual meal at midday, and shared plates and cocktails in the evening.

Each concept has its own identity and gives guests a different reason to visit throughout the day.

VIRGINIA · CHICAGO · VIRGINIA

The road back
to the table.

Chef Thai first learned hospitality at his family’s table in Virginia, where his mother and sisters kept the flavors of Vietnam close. Danielle was working as an architect near Washington, D.C. when they met; Thai was cooking in a fine-dining kitchen. An opportunity took them to Chicago together.

Their skills came together: Thai shaped a Vietnamese menu grounded in memory and honed by fine dining; Danielle brought an architect’s eye to the room and a host’s instinct to the guest experience. When their first restaurant ended abruptly, they chose to begin again. HaiSous became a place that felt unmistakably theirs.

Now they hope to bring what they built together back to Northern Virginia, where Thai first learned the pleasure of gathering around food.

Choose Chicago

From a morning coffee
to an evening out.

The collection pairs a full-service restaurant with two casual concepts, each with a distinct identity and a different reason to visit.

VIETNAMESE KITCHEN

HaiSous

Vietnamese soul.
A generous table.

HaiSous is the collection’s culinary anchor: a full-service Vietnamese restaurant built around the pleasure of a shared meal.

À la carte dining lets guests follow their own curiosity. Tasting menus offer a guided journey through the regions, history, and flavors that shape Chef Thai’s cooking.

The heart of the collection

A dining room for neighborhood regulars, evenings out, private dinners, and celebrations.

A complete dining experience

Distinctive food, cocktails, and wine, with the warmth of being welcomed to the Dangs’ table.

Chicago's Best

Warmth, by design.

Refined, personal, and unmistakably HaiSous.

Bamboo, copper, warm timber, and an open kitchen. Family-made furniture from Vietnam gives HaiSous a personal sense of place.

Those materials can carry into the next location, giving the concepts a family resemblance while letting each keep its own character.

COCKTAILS & WINE

Another expression
of the table.

Drinks that meet Vietnamese cooking with freshness, fragrance, and balance.

As HaiSous’s mixologist, Danielle creates cocktails that complement Thai’s cooking. She also helps shape a wine program that invites guests to discover something new.

Herbs, citrus, a little heat

Green Theory layers tequila and mezcal with green herbs, citrus, and serrano. Old So n’ So brings bourbon together with blood orange and ginger.

Wine with a sense of discovery

Crisp whites, lighter reds, and a particular affection for Riesling keep the food at the center of the experience.

Chef Thai’s coffee work connects the café to growers and roasters in Vietnam.

The morning ritual

Vietnamese coffee and specialty drinks to start the day or pause along the way.

The casual table

A NORTHERN VIRGINIA HOME

Landlord
Partnership.

We’re looking for a Northern Virginia setting where HaiSous, Cà Phê Đá, and Dang Good Wings can feel at home. The right landlord will help bring that vision to life.

One home for all three concepts is the goal, with room to consider individual locations when the fit is right.

A neighborhood to belong to

Walkable town centers and mixed-use districts with character, visible frontage, easy arrival, and activity throughout the day.

Room to make it ours

The space should accommodate a warm dining room, a lively café, and an easy flow between them. We can shape the layout, timing, and lease terms with the right landlord.
